Dr. Michelle Sonnema marries Justin Macdonald

CHESTER, N.Y. — Dr. Michelle Sonnema and Justin MacDonald, of Chester, NY., were married at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, with Mitch The Minister officiating at Minerals Resort and Spa in Vernon.

A reception for 170 guests followed the ceremony at Minerals Resort and Spa. Maid of Honor was sister of the bride, Danielle Sonnema of Hawthorne, N.J.. Bridesmaids, friends of the bride, were Danielle Emery of Highland Lakes, Heather Clapp of Lambertville and Maggie Custodio of Mullica Hill, N.J.; Best man brother of the groom, was Ryan Macdonald, of Milford, CT. Groomsman, friends of the groom, were Ryan Curley of Stamford, Conn., Dan Henchman of Barrington, R.I., and Simon Cooper of Arlington, Va.,

The bride, daughter of Frank and Cathy Sonnema, of Highland Lakes,is a 2003 graduate of Vernon High School, a 2007 graduate of Rutgers University and a 2011 graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is employed as a veterinarian at Goosepond Animal Hospital in Monroe, N.Y. The groom, son of Thomas and Corinne Macdonald, of Milford, Conn., is a 2003 graduate of Jonathan Law High School in Milford, Conn., and a 2007 graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed as a nuclear reactor operator at Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan, N.Y. Following their wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is now at home in Chester, N.Y.
