— The 2014 Sussex County Cyclocross and the NJ State Championships took place at the Sussex County Fairgrounds on Sunday, Nov. 16, in Augusta.

The fairgrounds made for a challenging but fun course for cyclists from the tri-state area.

West Point Cycling of The United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, Team Bulldog of Rockaway, NJ, Liberty Cycle of Basking Ridge, NJ, Caffeinated Cyclist of Pitman, NJ, Skylands Cycling, of Newton, NJ, and Black Bear Cycling, of Sussex, NJ were among the many cycling teams that participated.

Cyclists braved the brisk autumn air for a chance to win medals and prize money.

The event featured multiple age level races for men, women and adolescent cyclists.

The Sussex County Cyclocross and the NJ State Championships is one of the last cycling events of the year and runs from early morning to the late afternoon.
