Santa and Mrs. Paws bring snow to Vernon

| 17 Nov 2014 | 02:11

When Santa and Mrs. Paws came to visit their best friends Pete and Barbara Boniface of Highland Lakes, they brought four inches of heavy wet snow late Thursday night into Friday morning. However, on Saturday things warmed up for their annual visit to the Vernon Dog Park.

The turnout for Saturday’s photo op nearly doubled last year. New to this year’s Dog Owners Gathering Society of Vernon Santa visit was professional pet photographer Cheryl Esposito of Warwick, N.Y.-based www.lepoochie.com, who donated her time and skills to take the photographs for the event.

According to DOGS acting president Pat Lang, although the event was a success the profits made will barely be enough to cover a single month’s expenses for the upkeep of the park. More fundraising efforts will continue in the months ahead in order to try to keep the park open for area residents.
