Dr. Dani Segal, PhD Certified Holistic Nutritionist, recently spoke to the Warwick Valley Gardeners about Genetically Modified Organisms AT THE Warwick Senior Center on Oct. 21.

The talk drew 54 attendees.
Segal and her husband, Dan Segal, are co-owners of Healthy Thymes Market in Vernon. Segal began her presentation with a story about her first GMO talk 21 years earlier when she was booed by her entire nutrition class. By the end of her presentation this past week, the group was particularly inspired with many questions after the talk.

The audience ranged from those who had never heard of GMOs to those involved in the group Sustainable Warwick. Segal explained why it is important to achieve labeling of GMO foods and offered the doctors warning about why those foods are to be avoided. She gave information about non-GMO shopping tips, offered advice about protecting children from GMO foods, and gave tips for learning how to make a difference in one's own life, in one's family, the community and the world.

Segal, detoxification and aging-gracefully expert, presents many newsworthy and relevant health topics at venues throughout the tri-state area, including local hospitals. She is passionate about offering "food for thought" and inspiration to raise the health bar within the community.
