    Ronald James Vince, Sr., 79, of Vernon, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014. Ron was born on March 16, 1935, in Allentown, Pa., to the late Stephen and Catherine (Burger) Vince. After graduating from Ridgewood High School, he attended Alfred University until he entered the Army. He served with the United States Army, stationed in Munich, Germany. In 1965, he moved to the McAfee section of Vernon, where he ran a successful real estate business for many years; Vince Reality, Established in 1965. He was also a charter member and past president of the Vernon Rotary.

    In his spare time, Ron enjoyed photography. He liked taking the scenic route wherever he went, stopping to savor the view and photograph the beautiful landscapes. Ron’s true passion, however, was sailing. He was an avid sailor, and proud to pass down to his children his love for sailing. He shared this love with his family, taking many trips down the Hudson River and into Long Island Sound with his wife and children. Fond memories are imprinted with the joy that was shared on those trips.

    Ron is going to the Lord to join his late wife, Joan (Wilms) and his brother, David. He is survived by his three children, Ron (Mary Taylor), Doug (Francine Andrisano), and Diane Quesnelle (Chris). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Kyle, David, Hannah, Catherine, Joan, Damian, and Ella; as well as his two nieces, Susie and Amy.

    Visitation will be held at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Ct.) Vernon on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. and a funeral service at Holy Counselor Lutheran Church 68 Sand Hill Rd. Vernon on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at 10 a.m.. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Counselor Lutheran Church 68 Sand Hill Rd. Sussex, NJ 07461. His family is deeply grateful and wishes to thank his caregiver, Paul, and the ICU nurses, Donna and Linda, at Newton Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion.
