Re-elect Councilwoman Krynicky

It always intrigues me to see elected officials criticized for doing what they say they would do. In one of the more interesting contests this November, a councilwoman from Sussex Borough, Marina Krynicky, is enduring scathing criticisms for fulfilling her pledge to seek options to combat the crushing debt and limited resources that her municipality has inherited.

Regardless of the outcome of the non-binding referendum on the sale of their water utility, Council President Krynicky, Mayor Rose and some of their fellow governing body members have bravely offered the public a choice as to how to meet their escalating household expenses. Either way the vote goes, the Sussex Borough Administrator and council have labored hard to offer the public an innovative possibility in an open transparent manner.

I wouldn't get involved in another community's issue except that many of the critics appear to be from out-of-town themselves, including a self-serving Democratic Freeholder candidate that has embarrassed the process with a pathetic double ration of baseless fear and partisan political theater.

No matter where Mrs. Krynicky goes in the county, she is always a forceful vocal advocate for the residents of Sussex Borough.

As a father with a passionate daughter I take offense at the way her critics have disrespectfully attacked her style and her veracity. Many elected men in Sussex County advocate for their municipalities in much the same way, gaining respect, not condescending remarks. I would be proud to have her as my representative.

I urge my friends in Sussex Borough to look past the petty political squabbles and misleading accusations and support Republican Councilwoman Marina Krynicky for re-election.
