Library to host WWI program

VERNON — The Friends of the Dorothy E. Henry branch of the Sussex County Public Library will present the second program honoring the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I on Oct. 26.

This will feature Ken LeLen, singer and guitarist, in a program entitled “Ragtime Rascals”, music of 1912 to 1929, popular with the doughboys, flappers, bootleggers, and speakeasy denizens.

This is the second concert by LeLen at the Library. He brings a tenor voice, multiple guitars, interesting and amusing anecdotes, and a charming personality.

The event will take place in the Community Room of the Library on Route 94 in Vernon at 3 p.m. Admission is free with a reception to follow.

The program is well suited for ages 12 through adult.
