Military Moms planning collection for troops

| 06 Oct 2014 | 12:58

The Military Moms of Vernon is starting its second annual drive to collect items to ship to our troops overseas.

Donations can be dropped off at Lawson Chiropractic in Highland Lakes or Oak Ridge, Highland Flowers in Vernon, Pappa Contracting in McAfee or the LampPost in Sussex.

Some of the items being collected are toothbrushes, protein bars, drink mixes for water bottles, magazines, paperback books, DVD's, granola bars, baby wipes, foot powder, lip balm, beef jerky, sunflower seeds, gum, microwave popcorn, eye drops, yo-yo's, dominos, air fresheners, puzzle books, hacky sacks, individual fruit cups.

Contact Patti Lawson with any questions at militarymomsofvernon@gmail.com. Monetary donations to help with shipping costs are more than welcome and can be dropped off at Highland Flowers (checks made out to Military Moms of Vernon).

If you live in Sussex County and have a deployed family member, provide the group with a name and address so that the group may include them in the shipment.
