Father John's Animal House plans 5K

AUGUSTA — Father John's Animal House will hold its first 5K Tails & Trails Walk for family, friends and pets at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta on Sunday, Oct. 19 from noon until 4 p.m., rain or shine.

Registration is $10 per person, with children under 5 and pets getting in free. Registration forms can be found on the shelter's website — www.fatherjohnsanimalhouse.org — under Upcoming Events or can be picked up at the shelter.

The walk will commence at the Conservatory and follow a route around the perimeter of the fairgrounds.

Walkers can start anytime between noon and 3 p.m.

All dogs must be licensed, up-to-date on vaccinations and leashed at all times. No retractable leashes allowed or leashes over 6 ft. Walkers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Come out for some fresh air and enjoy a fun-filled day with your family and friends. Participate with or without a dog. All proceeds from the event will go to support the animals at the shelter.
