Vernon honors fallen firefighters

VERNON — Vernon Township will participate in the Bells Across America Campaign, the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend to be held Oct. 11 and 12 to honor those fallen heroes.

“Vernon has been fortunate not to have lost any firefighters,” Council President Brian Lynch said. “But, we recognize those fallen.”

The township will host their own memorial service at the Vernon Firehouse on Oct. 13.

“We are truly fortunate for people (firefighters) that do he training and do the work without asking anything in return” Mayor Victor Marotta said. “Thank you for what you do.”
