The Franklin-Sterling Gem & mineral Show will celebrate its 58th year operating one of the largest gem and mineral shows in northern New Jersey on Sept. 27 and 28 at the Franklin Elementary School on Washington Avenue.

    It will run from Saturday, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Featuring more than 40 dealers, the show will offer a variety of merchandise including gems, mineral specimens, jewelry, lapidary items, books, and mining artifacts. Inside dealers fill the gymnasium and educational exhibits line the main corridor. Also located inside will be fluorescent mineral dealers and spectacular displays of Franklin's world-famous fluorescent minerals.

Outside vendors are welcome to set up in the school's ball field an hour before show opening.

The show is sponsored by the Franklin Mineral Museum, a nonprofit organization.

In conjunction with the show, the museum will have a special sale of minerals and merchandise. The museum is located on Evans Street and is open for the public to visit, explore and learn about the mining industry.
