The Friends of High Point State Park will sponsor a Fall Foliage Bicycle Ride on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. for a guided ride on the loop around Park Ridge Road and Sawmill Road with short stops along the way to view points of interest and to enjoy a picnic lunch at Sawmill Lake.

On the return, participants will walk or ride along the historical Ayers Trail.

The group will meet at the Winter Parking Lot at 11 a.m. and should be back around 2 p.m. The bike ride will begin around 10 miles and is suitable for riders ages 14 and older.

Helmets are required for all bicycle riders, who should bring their own bicycle, helmet, bag lunch and water. The event is free, but a suggested donation of $5 or more per participant is appreciated.
