Dorothy J. Rainey

Dorothy J. Rainey, age 56, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014 at Newton Medical Center. Born in Ridgewood, Dorothy served in the United States Army and had been stationed in Texas before settling back in New Jersey. She had been employed at both the Franklin and Newton Wal-Mart stores for the past 15 years. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 26 years, William J. Rainey; her two sons, Erik De La Garza of Texas and Chris Rainey of Sussex; her daughter, Michele Weeks of Texas; her two sisters, Debbie Weiner of Georgia and Eleonore Sherbert of California; her parents, William and Jean Weiner of Whiting; and her two grandchildren, Chloe Weeks and Hayden De La Garza. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Friends may

pay their respects to the family on Monday from 2-4 p.m. to 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation services will be held at the convenience of the family.
