The Sussex Borough Council resolved to change the time period of selling the Sussex Water/Sewer Utility to 90 days after the public referendum has passed, instead of 90 days after the bidding process on Sept. 2.

The public referendum will be voted on during the general election on Nov. 4.

The Council voted 5-1 with Councilwoman Annette Stendor voting against the measure.

Currently, Aqua New Jersey, Inc. proposed the highest bid of $11,382,000.

The borough also will hold special meetings regarding the possible sale on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Sussex Fire House on Loomis Avenue.

No formal action will be taken.
