    Hazel Elizabeth Milhoan Owens, age 94, passed away on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at Bristol Glen Retirement Community. Born in Belmont, Ohio, on Nov. 10, 1919, to the late John and Stella Milhoan, Mrs. Owens graduated from Belmont High School and Spencer Business College in New Orleans. She married Eston C. Owens on May 1, 1939, while he was working on the R.E.A. in Ohio. She and her husband and three children were baptized in 1956 by Rev. J. Kenneth Mart, and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Sussex, where she served several terms as a deaconess. Mrs. Owens was a former member of the Missionary Society and the Ladies Aid and Good Neighbors Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Eston, on May 30, 2000. Mrs. Owens is survived by her three sons, John Owens and his wife Reola of Sussex, Harold Owens and his wife, Cherie, of Rising Sun, Md., and Eston Owens, Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Sewickly, Pa.; her four daughters, Bonnie Murray of Frederick, Md., Linda Sherbin and her husband Jim of Accident, MD, Mary Card and her husband Jack of Sussex, and Alice Owens of Newton; 17 grandchildren; 26 great

    grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Interment with her husband will immediately follow at Deckertown-Union Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the
