    Ethel J. Gratzel, 86, formerly of Northampton, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014, in Preakness Health Center, Wayne, New Jersey. She was the wife of the late Stephen J. Gratzel, who died Oct. 13, 2013. Born Sept. 24, 1927, in Union City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Victor and Ida (Salter) Frumolt. Prior to moving to the Preakness Health Center, she was a resident of Teaneck, N.J., as well as Highland Lakes, N.J., where she spent summers with her family until becoming a year-round resident in 1976. She enjoyed walking and tending to both her flower and vegetable gardens. Ethel was a former member of Queenship of Mary Church and she sang on the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Young at Heart Senior Group. Survivors: sons, Stephen J. Gratzel and his wife, Noreen, of Warwick, N.Y., Robert J. Gratzel and his wife, Rene, of Red Hook, N.Y., Christopher Gratzel and his wife, Christine, of Warwick, N.Y., daughters, Patricia J., wife of Edward Camarillo, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Constance A., wife of Kevin Kney, of Rockford, Ill., Gail M. Gratzel, of Riverdale, N.J., and 15 grandchildren. A burial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 5 at 10:45 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton.
