Thomas J. Elliot, Jr.

Thomas J. Elliott, Jr., 84, passed away at Newton Medical Center on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014. Born in Hawthorne, N.J., he was the son of the late Thomas J. Elliott, Sr., and Virginia Conaway Elliott. Since 1998, he has been a resident of Sussex County and prior to that had resided in Wayne, N.J.

Mr. Elliott was employed for many years as a chemical mixer with Hampton Products in Fairfield, N.J. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army. In his spare time he would enjoy the times he would spend surf fishing.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Leonard and Richard Elliott and a son-in-law Thomas Meyer. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Rose (Ciaravino) Elliott of Sussex Borough. His children daughters: Sharon Meyer of Vernon Twp., N.J., and Diana Molenaar and her husband, David, of Vernon, Twp., N.J., a son Thomas J. Elliott, III, and his former wife, Leah, of Parsippany, N.J.; a sister Jeanette Littleton of Burlington, Vt., grandchildren Kevin and his wife, Christine, Christopher and his fiancée, Aisleen, Nicole, Ryan, and Alyssa, and a great-granddaughter Arabella.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at the Ferguson Funeral Home 27 Third St. Sussex. Final disposition will be held privately. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations to help defray funeral expenses would be preferred and may be mailed to the family at 167 Route 284 Apt. #2 Sussex, NJ, 07461.
