Can LED bulbs be used outdoors?
For the most part LED replacement bulbs are designed for indoor use and also typically rated for damp locations. They need to be protected from the direct effects of the elements such as rain, snow, etc. when used outdoors.
However, there are specifically rated outdoor weatherproof LED bulbs that can be used in outdoor applications subject to the elements. An example would be an outdoor weather-proof LED flood light used to illuminate shrubbery, trees, driveways, buildings, signs, etc.
These LED lamps can be subjected to weather conditions in open fixtures. Be sure to check the ratings of the product(s) you are considering.
