— In June, Eastern Propane hosted a kickoff breakfast for local businesses to learn how they could support Pass It Along, a nonprofit organization serving Sussex, Warren, Morris and Essex counties, which works to build confident, resilient and compassionate teenagers through self-discovery, volunteerism and leadership programs.

James Furgeson, Director of Community and Donor Relations at Newton Medical Center, invited guests to join presenting sponsors Newton Medical Center and Atlantic Sports Health, and support Pass It Along by riding, volunteering and fundraising for the bike tour event set for Sunday, Sept. 14.

The event will run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Long Pond School in Andover.

Since the kickoff breakfast, several businesses are forming teams, volunteering or donating including Advocare Sussex County Pediatrics, Atlantic Sports Health, Black Bear Fitness, Dobbs Creative Group, Dykstra and Associates, Eastern Propane, EM Electrical Contractors, First Hope Bank, Mount Freedom Printing, Newton Medical Center, Selective Insurance Group, Service Electric Cable TV, Skylands Cycling Club, Sparta Athletic, Stop and Shop, and Sussex Bike and Sport Shop.

Advocare Sussex County Pediatrics will be raffling two children’s bike helmets, and Eastern Propane will be awarding traveling team trophies to the largest team and the team that raises the most funds.

The team name will be engraved on the trophies, and remain with the team until the next year. Pass It Along will also give an exclusive cycling jersey to each individual fundraiser raising $250 or more for the event.

Snacks and refreshments will be available to all registrants and volunteers. Picnicking will also be allowed and encouraged at the event.

Registration is available on the day of the vent at the Long Pond School starting 7 a.m.

To participate in the team awards and group start, riders should check in before 8 a.m.

The Kids Only Zone will be open 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
