    Gladys Pisapia (nee Card), 91, of Glenwood died unexpectedly at her daughter’s home on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014.

    Born to Lewis and Bertha Card in Butler, N.J., she had lived in the Hewitt section of West Milford, before moving to the Glenwood section of Vernon Twp., in 1985.

    Gladys owned and operated with her husband, IdealFoodCenter in Hewitt for many years until 1985 and she worked as a solderer for Johanson Manufacturing Corp. in Boonton, N.J. from 1976 until her retirement in 1988. She was a parishioner of St. Francis deSales RC Church and a member of the Rosary Society. She enjoyed shopping, trips to the casinos and doting on her grandchildren.

    Gladys is predeceased by her husband, Ralph Pisapia (1985) and seven brothers, Howard, Lawrence, George, Aaron, Norman, Richard and Vernon and is the devoted mother of Helen Fiorilla of Vernon Twp., N.J., Marie Davenport and her husband, Stanley of Glenwood, N.J., Robert M. Pisapia and his wife, Jennifer of Glenwood, N.J. Loving grandmother of Danielle, Alexandra, Faith and Joshua. Great Grandmother of Kiran and Kaitlyn. Dear sister of Pearl Ryerson of Pa., Martha Conklin of Fla., Jeannette Mendel of Pa., Helen Winnan of Pa., Gilbert Card of N.J. and Harry Card of Pa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

    The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court), Vernon on Thursday, Aug. 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 15 at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis deSales RC Church, Vernon Twp. at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Hardyston Twp.
