    June 23
    Christopher Mullen, 23, of Sparta, pleaded guilty to the third degree crime of possession of heroin.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 5.

    Mullen admitted to assisting another individual in purchasing heroin that was seized on

    Sept. 9, 2013 during the course of a motor vehicle stop by Sparta police.

    June 25
    Dennis McNerney, 62, of Avenel, N.J. pleaded guilty to an indictment handed up on June 24, 2013.

    McNerney pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual contact and two counts of criminal sexual contact.

    Sentencing is scheduled Sept. 24.

    This matter was investigated by the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office and The New Jersey State Police with assistance from Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

    June 27
    Sean Williams, 25, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to three years of probation, must continue treatment, and pay fines and penalties.

    Williams admitted that on March 11, 2013, in the Borough of Hopatcong, he engaged in sexual contact with a minor.

    Michael E. Pelliccio, 28, of Jersey City, New Jersey, was sentenced to two years of probation, substance abuse treatment and $955 in fines.

    He pleaded guilty on May 12 to the fourth degree crime of possession of a device intended to be used to defraud a drug test.

    Pelliccio admitted that on Dec. 13, 2013, he had been directed by a Family Court judge to be drug tested and he possessed a bottle that contained a mixture of apple juice and water that he intended to use in order to defraud the test.

    The matter was investigated by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office.

    Matthew Simon, 40, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to five years of probation, must serve

    30 days in the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program, pay restitution in the amount of $18,000 to the victim and pay fines and penalties.

    Simon admitted that between Sept. 1, 2009 and Oct. 31, 2010, in the Borough of Hopatcong he stole money from the Hopatcong Hawks Soccer Club.

    James E. Norman, 50, of Branchville, New Jersey, was sentenced to three years in state prison, $155 in fines and $295.93 in restitution.

    Norman pleaded guilty on May 12 to the third degree crime of credit card theft.

    He admitted that on Jan. 13 in Hampton Township he used a credit card belonging to another person without authorization in order to obtain more than $200 in items from Walmart.

    The matter was investigated by the New Jersey State Police.

    June 30
    Stephanie Villarreal, 27, of Highland Park, pleaded guilty to distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, a crime of the third degree.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 8.

    In pleading guilty, Villarreal admitted to selling heroin to another individual in Newton on May 12.

    Ryan Forbeck, 27, of Sussex, pleaded guilty to theft, a crime of the third degree.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 8.

    In pleading guilty, Forbeck admitted to taking money from another individual in Newton on March 11.
