    Janet E. Struble 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2014, at the Homestead Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Frankford, Twp. Born in Sussex, she has been a lifelong resident of Sussex County and was the daughter of the late Harry and Eva (Blanchard) Runyon.

    Janet was a homemaker over her many years always being there to care for and raise her family. Janet always found a way to bring a smile and happiness to everyone she met.

    Over the years she also managed to find time to work outside of the home, for 10 years, she was a switchboard operator for the Continental Telephone Company. she also was a bus driver for eight years for Dunn’s bus service in Wantage. She was a graduate of Sussex High School and attended The N.J. College for Women (Douglas College). In her spare time, she was an avid reader, and always loved life and her family and many friends. She was a 70-year member of the Sussex Fire Department’s women’s auxiliary serving as president from 1962-63. She also volunteered for many years with the Sussex First Aid Squad. She faithfully attended over the years the Wantage United Methodist Church and the First Baptist Church of Sussex.

    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Harold Struble (2006), daughters Joanne Pecoriello (1982), Peggy Jareck (2004), and Nancy Compton (2004). She is survived by her children, a daughter, Barbara Richards of Liberty, S.C., and a son, Michael A. Struble, and his wife, Suzanne, of Wantage. Twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. And her son in-laws Daniel Pecoriello and Kevin Jareck.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral 11 a.m. on Friday, July 25, at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third St., Sussex. Interment to follow at Clove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Sussex Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary services will be held on Thursday during the visitation period.
