    Christopher James Smith, 30 years old, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Danbury Hospital, Danbury, Conn., surrounded by his family. Born to Steven and Kathleen Smith in Newton, N.J., he grew up in Scenic Lakes and lived in Danbury for the last 5 years.

    Christopher was a graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School, class of 2002 and a graduate of Universal Technical Institute in Illinois in 2003. He became an auto technician and then worked as an Audi Technician for Danbury Audi for the last five years. He was an avid skier and fisherman.

    Christopher is predeceased by an uncle, Michael Kelly and was the devoted son of Steven and Kathleen Smith of Scenic Lakes.; dear brother of Carolyn Smith-Simmons of Vernon Twp., N.J., and Kevin Smith of Vernon Twp., NJ; loving uncle of Sophia Simmons; grandson of Agnes Kerr of Whiting, N.J.; nephew of Mark and Virginia Kobovitch of Pennsylvania, Donald and Diane McGowan of Bayville, N.J., and John Steimle of Birmingham, AL. Also survived by several cousins.

    The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral service to commence at 7 p.m .
