Highland Lakes hosts fishign derby

You can't get much happier than Gabriella Cefaloni, 6, who won the trophy she yearned for as a reward for catching the largest fish of the day. A one-pound eight ounce largemouth bass. The trophies were presented by Mark Grammerstorf.

VERNON — With a deep blue sky and puffy clouds overhead, last Saturday was ideal for the children of Highland Lakes to compete in the Highland Lakes Kid Fishing Derby.
The event was held on the dam on Lake Four located on Cherry Ridge Road off Canistear Road in Highland Lakes. Most of the fish caught by the kids were bass and sunfish with one catfish caught during the day.
Gabriella Cefaloni, 6, won for catching the largest fish, for a one pound eight ounce largemouth bass.
