ROCKAWAY — Sussex Bank hosted close to 200 golfers this year with a new golf challenge event for charity that will continue to allow them to do more with their charitable giving efforts in the community.

Everyone who attended their event at Crystal Springs Golf Course had a chance to participate in a three-hole golf challenge skills competition that included putting, chipping and pitching over an eight foot wall branded with their Foundation logo on it.

“The challenges were a lot of fun and added a new element to the golf outing,” said Charles Tamasaukas, firm administrator for Courter, Kobert & Cohen, PC.

The day’s festivities included a cookout lunch, cigars courtesy of the Maione Family, the challenge event sponsored by Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP followed by a cocktail reception that featured bourbon tasting donated by the Wine Legend in Livingston, NJ. At the end of the night, they raffled off a bottle of Louis XIII Cognac and gave each golfer a set of bourbon glasses as a gift for joining the outing.

In 2013, the SB Foundation, Inc. made donations to the Hemophilia Foundation, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, United Way of Northern New Jersey, Local High School & College Scholarships, Kittatinny Cougar Club Event, 4-H Foundation, 200 Club of Sussex County, Bergen Chapter NJSCPA, Oasis and Boys and Girls Club of Paterson. Additionally, the foundation awarded three $1,000 scholarships to the Sussex County Community College Foundation in their spring awards ceremony for the U.S. Armed Forces Veteran Assistance Scholarship, U.S. Armed Forces Reservist Advantage Scholarship and the U.S. Armed Forces College Start Scholarship.
