Evelyn A. Lloyd

Evelyn A. Lloyd, age 82, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at The Homestead Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Born in Manhattan, New York to the late August and Martha (Niebauer) Stuven, Mrs. Lloyd had lived in Wayne before moving to Wantage Township in 1968. She had been employed at the Sussex County Adult Day Care Center in Newton, and later worked as a home health aide after retiring in 2007. Previously, Mrs. Lloyd had worked at Lynne's Cleaners in Newton, the Country Meadows Restaurant in Wantage, and also baked bread for purchase at the Elias Cole restaurant in Colesville. She was a member and former deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Milford, Pa., and also worked in their church store. Mrs. Lloyd had been a former member of the Colesville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Sussex-Wantage PTA, and also served as a den leader. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning. Mrs. Lloyd loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was especially proud of them while attending their functions. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Lloyd in 1992. Mrs. Lloyd is survived by her son, Glen Lloyd and his wife, Grace of Belvidere; her daughter, Karen Armstrong and her husband Duane, of Wantage; her sister, Tomassina “Tonni” Geddings, of South Carolina; her four grandchildren, Stacie, Brett, Jacob and Luis; and her cousins, Eleanor Steuven and Edmund Stuven. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex. Interment of Evelyn’s ashes will immediately follow at Clove Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Tuesday one hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m..
