Author plans nature writing workshop

| 16 Apr 2014 | 10:32

There will be a nature writing workshop on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with author Mary Jasch.

This walk encapsulates New Jersey’s glacial terrain in a 3-mile loop: boulder fields, clean trout streams, a ravine, waterfalls and wild flowers. There are benches so participants can sit, observe and write the way of natural historians did. Participants also may take photos to document their writing and to use as reference.

This workshop, designed for writers of all genres and levels, will take participants through a step-by-step process of observing and describing a distinct habitat and its flora, fauna and terrain through a focused use of the senses. Participants will leave with a nature essay ready for publication and lifetime skills of nature writing, honed observational abilities and an appreciation of New Jersey’s trails. No experience necessary.

The cost will be $35 per person. For more informtaio and to register email mary@dig-itmag.com, www.dig-itmag.com or call 973-570-0759.
