I have heard that pedals that you clip into with special shoes are really good to have. Why and how much are we talking.

Clip-in pedals are actually called clipless pedals. I know that sounds totally backwards. Clipless pedals are out right awesome. They work similar to a ski boot and binding. On the bottom of the shoe is a metal cleat that cleat locks into the pedal. As scary as it sounds being clipped in is much safer. Your foot can’t slip off the pedal. Your feet are always in the right position.

They are also safer! YUP! Safer than the toe cages you are using. You see as easy as it is to clip in it is also easy to clip out. You just twist your foot out to the side and presto you are out. There is also benefit to the shoe. The shoe is stiffer than a regular sneaker. This helps prevent foot soreness, arch aches, and long term nerve damage.

When you are ready, stop by and try out the shoes. We will install the new pedals and the have you try out the new clipless pedals on an indoor trainer too. It is a great way to practice the technique before you hit the road.
