Laughter lofted up from the basement into the Sussex-Wantage Regional school board meeting March 26.

Below the Wantage Elementary School gym, Family Fun Night was being held to promote fitness and health. Meanwhile, board discussed the other side of the education coin, testing.

Superintendent Jeanne Apryasz reported to the board that students were rushing through the practice Partnership for Assessment and Readiness for College and Careers test, which is administered online.

The PARCC will take the place of the New Jersey Assessment of Knowledge and Skills test.

The school district will not get this year's scores, as the 2014 test is only to prepare the students for the exam to be given in 2015.

After taking the practice test, students reported they need a typing class to help them.
