Stephen M. Reddy, 55, of Vernon was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath tests, careless driving and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Police were dispatched at 6:35 p.m. to the Route 94 side of the Appalachian Hotel on the report of a male hitchhiking of a blue pickup.
