Alfred E. Bremel, 18, of Wantage was charged by Sussex County sheriff's deputies with possession of alcohol under the leagal age, possession of marijuana in an amount of less than 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies said he was stopped during the countywide DWI Enforcement campaign and was seen driving a silver Dodge sedan and failed to maintain his lane while traveling along Haggerty Road in Frankford Township. Deputies said Officer Scott Haggerty detected the odor of marijuana within the vehicle and further investigation revealed Bremel, a passenger, to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. Deputies said Bremel also claimed ownership of a quantity of alcohol in the vehicle.
The driver received a summons for failure to maintain his lane and Bremel was taken into custoday, processed and released pending further court action. He will appear in Frankford Township Municipal Court.
Cory M. Mendola, 21, of Hampton Township, was charged with failure to keep right, possession of marijuana in an amount less than 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
Deputies said Sergeant John Gray saw a dark-colored 2012 Acura TL driving erratically on County Hihgway 519 in Fredon Township. Deputies said Gray detected the odor of marijuana from within the vehicle and further investigation revelaed Mendola to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.
Mendola was released pending further action in Fredon Township Municipal Court.
