Doris G. Koeppel Zitzman

Doris G. nee Koeppel Zitzman, 89 died peacefully Sunday Sept. 8, 2013, at her home in Hamburg surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Zitzman, daughter of the late Charles and Estell (Bagott) Koeppel, was born in Secaucus on Aug. 30, 1924. She had resided in Toms River and Fair Lawn before moving to Hamburg in 1995.

Mrs. Zitzman graduated from Demarest High School at age 16 and went on to dance professionally in a trio that travelled throughout the United States. She was a member of Holy Counselor Lutheran Church in Vernon, St. Jude Senior Club in Hamburg and the Hardyston Twp. Senior Citizens. Mrs. Zitzman enjoyed line dancing at the Vernon Senior Center.

Mrs. Zitzman was predeceased by her husband, Walter Zitzman, in 1994 and is survived by her children, Pamela Fertel and her husband, Glenn, of Highland Lakes, and Glenn Zitzman and his wife, Terry, of Jacksonville, FL; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wed. Sept. 11, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 (1 Vanderhoof Ct. for GPS) Vernon. Cremation will be private.
