Thanks to the High Point BOE

At the May 14 High Point Regional High School Board of Education meeting, a group of students and parents of the Technology Students Association spoke up about not being able to go to nationals in Orlando, FL. The group previously spoke at the April 29 BOE meeting. I wish to complement this new BOE, led by board president Paul Derin. Congratulations to Mr. Derin and the BOE for stepping up and doing the best they could do to correct a mistake. They listened to both students and parents, went into executive session and came back in about 15 minutes with a most agreeable solution, and they approved it.

I want to thank them for their generosity! I, being one of those parents, am grateful, as my son Raymond Gallagher, a class of 2013 senior at High Point and state champion of digital video production, will have his last chance to compete on the national level thanks to the current BOE. An excellent way to end his high school career!

Good luck to all the High Point TSA students who are able to attend the national conference in Orlando with their parent as their advisor.
