Katherine Mary Galvin Healy

    Katherine Mary Galvin Healy passed away on Friday, May 10 at the Milford Senior Care in Milford, Pa. She was the daughter saughter of William P. Galvin and Della Bohan Galvin. She was predeceased by her husband Thomsa J. Healy of Staten Island, N.Y., whom she married on Valentine's Day 1953, her brother William James Galvin, sisters Helen Galvin and Mary (May) Galvin Crowley.

    Born in Brooklyn NY, Katherine moved to Vernon, N.J. in 1969 to raise her family. Katherine and Tom then moved to Staten Island in 1986 and she most recently resided in Milford, Pa.

    Katherine was an employee of Chase Manhatten Bank before becoming a mother of her five children: Robert M. Healy, Maureen Healy Babcock, Eileen Healy, Elizabeth Healy Palmisano and Thomas M. Healy.

    Katherine was also a scout master mom to her son Thomas and a small troop of young boys who considered her a second mother. Katherine was an avid reader who also enjoyed sewing and knitting.

    Katherine will also be missed by her son-in-laws, Robert W. Babcock and Frank Palmisano; her grandchildren, Christian E. Babcock, Sean W. Babcock and Carrieanne Babcock; great-grandchildren, Justin Robert Babcock and Liam Galvin Babcock; and many nieces and nephews.

    Affectionately known as "Gee-Gee," Katherine will be remembered for making people — especially children — feel special and loved.
