    The Newton Theatre announces the following shows coming in June and October, with tickets on sale now.

    The Wallflowers
    Sunday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m.

    After a seven-year break, The Wallflowers are back.

    The rock band fronted by Jakob Dylan merely took a breather from a career that started in 1989 in Los Angeles and includes two Grammys for 1996’s multi-platinum Bringing Down the Horse, an album that shot the band to fame on the strength of hits like 6th Avenue Heartache, (with Adam Duritz of Counting Crows) One Headlight and Three Marlenas.

    The Wallflowers have released six studio albums, one compilation album and have had various songs on television and movie soundtracks. They have won two Grammy awards for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Rock Song for their song One Headlight in 1998. The current line-up includes Jakob Dylan, Rami Jaffee, Greg Richling, Stuart Mathis, Jack Irons.

    Tickets are $69 for premium seating, $59 for orchestra and $49 for balcony.

    Big Shot - The Ultimate Billy Joel Experience

    Friday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m.
    The band is fronted by the vocals and piano of Michael DelGuidice, a well known, world class, Long Island multi-instrumentalist. He is backed by a band featuring members of Billy Joel's Band, including multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and producer Tommy Byrnes, who has been Billy Joel’s guitarist for the past 21 years. He also served as the Musical Director of the Tony Award-winning Broadway smash Movin’ Out during it’s long run.

    Tickets are $34 for premium seating, $29 for orchestra and $24 for balcony.

    Paula Poundstone
    Friday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m.

    Poundstone can be heard as a regular panelist on NPR’s popular rascal of a weekly news quiz show, "Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me." She tours regularly, performing standup comedy across the country.

    Tickets are $39 for premium seating, $34 for orchestra and $29 for balcony.

    Leo Kottke
    Sunday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.

    Acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke is known for a fingerpicking style that draws on influences from blues, jazz and folk music. Kottke overcame a series of personal obstacles, including partial loss of hearing and a nearly career-ending bout with tendon damage in his right hand to emerge as a widely-recognized master of his instrument. Kottke has been awarded two Grammy nominations; a Doctorate in Music Performance by the Peck School of Music at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee; and a Certificate of Significant Achievement in Not Playing the Trombone from the University of Texas at Brownsville with Texas Southmost College.
