Robert “Bob” Padgett

Robert “Bob” Padgett, 65, of Sussex died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Newton Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Franklin to the late Harry and Mabel Padgett, Bob lived in Sussex his entire life. He had been employed at Norwescap in Sussex for 15 years before his retirement.

Bob enjoyed fishing, football, playing softball his entire life, and loved spending time outdoors. Bob will always be remembered sitting in Ray’s drinking coffee and scratching lottery tickets.

Bob was predeceased by his mother, Mabel (Shauger) Padgett in 1986, his father, Harry Padgett, Sr. in 1988, and his daughter, Heather Hotalen-Brown in 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Dawn; his five sons, Bobby, Barrett, Jimmy, Rob, and Little Bob; his five daughters, Ashley, Amanda, Angie, Sara, and Samantha; his two brothers, Harry, Jr. and Richard; his two sisters, Marie Southard and Jean Lazier; his seven grandchildren, Kyleigh, Chelsea, Jeffrey, Gregory, Katelynn, Abigail, and Little Barrett; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Kenny Green.

Funeral services were held at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the funeral home to help defray the funeral expenses.
