Janet E. Lasslett

Janet E. Lasslett, 72, of Wantage died on April 18, 2013 at the Sussex County Homestead in Frankford Township.

Born in Wanaque to the late Floyd and Ruth Ricker, Lasslett had lived in Newfoundland for 42 years before moving to Sussex County five years ago.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of Sparta. Lasslett was an animal lover and enjoyed music and played the piano. She had a deep passion for the Civil War and appreciated her visits to the historic town of Gettysburg.

Lasslett is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard; six sons, Mark R. of Gaithersburg, MD, Timothy S. of Marshalls Creek, Pa., Jon H. of Vernon, Christopher T. of Byram, Patrick M. of Stillwater and Stephen P. of Kalispell, Montana; daughter, Lisa E. Hanna of Stillwater; her sister, Doris E. Hoefgen of Sparrowbush, N.Y.; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services were at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 200 Highway 23, Wantage. Funeral arrangments made by Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex.
