Mountain Creek Bike Park opens for season with Mexican theme

Going up in the Cabriolet, mountain bike riders were happy to be back to the slopes.

This racer combined some pretty diverse head gear last weekend when at long last the mountain bike trails at Mountain Creek reopened for the season.
VERNON — Mountain bikers hit the trails at Mountain Creek as they reopened for the season this past weekend.
The day included a mountain-wide scavenger hunt and a Mexican Hat Dance Foot-Down Challenge complete with Piñata at the resort’s Biergarten outdoor lounge.
Following the park’s opening, the first series of high end races are set for May 18 and 19 with the Spring Classic Pro GRT. The professional races are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday. Races are to include Downhill and Super D in both Professional and Amateur categories.
