Barbershop and Family Haircuts opens in Highland Lakes

| 07 May 2013 | 04:13

Highland Lakes Barbershop and Family Haircuts is a new business that opened up in Highland Lakes providing “haircuts only” for the whole family — men, women, boys and girls of all ages.

Owner/Operator, Janet Arendas, lives in Vernon in Great Gorge Village and has been a hairstylist for 23 years, working the last 10 years in several barber shops in Sussex County and the Rockaway Mall.

Deciding to start up her own business Arendas knew the right location and space was of utmost importance. She literally stumbled onto her shop while taking a drive off her normal routes for a much needed change of scenery.

“Something made me look to the right where I saw the sign in the window… 'Start Your New Business Here'," said Arendas.

It’s located at the intersection of Breakneck and Canistear Roads across from the Delta Gas Station and Lake Wanda Store and next to Highland Lakes Chiropractic in the Three Corners Plaza building.

Prices, which are not based on gender or age are $8 for a one-length buzz, $10 for a short regular, Caesar, fade etc., and $12 for longer layered cuts.

Hours are: Monday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed on Sunday and Wednesday.
