Horseshoe League looking for adult and youth members to join

VERNON — The Vernon Horseshoe League is looking for members for its junior and adult teams.

Junior Division
The Vernon Horseshoe League's new Junior Division, (Colts) are looking for members ages 12 to 17 years old.

Any talent or skill level, boys and girls, may play the game. Adult supervised lessons and games at all times. Stakes are set at 40 feet apart.

Youth can pitch horseshoes up to 27 feet away. You can bring your own horseshoes or they will be supplied.

This program starts June 24, 2013 and meets for 10 weeks on Monday nights at 6 p.m., for $10 per person.

Adult Division
The Vernon Horseshoe League is offering an adult only, Horseshoe Double Elimination Tournament. This is open to anyone 18 years and older, men and women, members and non-members.

This tournament will be held on June 22 at 9 a.m., at Veterans Memorial Park on Vernon Crossing Road, Vernon. The rain date will be June 23. The entry fee is $25 per person.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event with games starting at 9 a.m. Partners are only picked out of a can. The last four teams will win prize money. Limited spaces are available.
