American Legion auxiliary raises over $3K for breast cancer

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 213 hosted a walk for breast cancer on Saturday, July 26, at Woodbourne Park to benefit the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen.

About 75 percent of the net proceeds stay in Northern Jersey to support local community health programs that focus on screening, treatment assistance, education, and outreach. The additional 25 percent of the net proceeds supports National Komen Research Grant programs.

In addition to the walkers who gathered to pledge donations, there were many local business who donated to the cause.

There was stretching ahead of time and music through out the entire event, gifts for the walkers along with food and water. Representatives from North Jersey Susan G. Komen were on hand to share important information on breast cancer.
