Murphy enters last year on Paterson swim team

Casey Murphy, a graduate of Wallkill Valley High School a senior for the William Paterson University women’s swim team this season. Murphy listed as an English major was named as the Pioneer of the Week in early December. She won the 100 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 1,000 freestyle-all with personal best times in a meet versus Immaculata on December 1.
After eight dual meets, the Pioneers had an overall record of 6-2, with a mark of 3-0 at home. Through December, they were 1-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). On Jan. 26, they have a home NJAC meet scheduled against Montclair State University.
Honacy Beco Jr. (High Point High School) and Eamon Logue are both on the roster as members of the William Paterson University men’s swim program this season. Logue, a junior won both the 100 backstroke and the 200 breaststroke in a dual meet victory over Immaculata in December.
Beco Jr., a sophomore competitor in freestyle, butterfly and diving events is listed as a Finance major. Logue is listed as a Sports Management major. Beco Jr. earned Dean’s List honors in the Spring of 2018.
After eight dual meets, the Pioneers had an overall record of 5-3 and they were 3-1 in their home pool. On Jan. 15, they have a road challenge at State University of New York Cobleskill.
Randi Lyn Hornyak (Wallkill Valley High School) is on the roster as a competitor in throwing events for the Stockton University women’s track and field team this year. Hornyak placed ninth in the shot put at the Fasttrack Season Opener at Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island.
The Ospreys are slated to take part in the Ursinus Collegeville Classic in Collegeville, Pa. on Jan. 19.
Emily Bove (High Point High School) is a sophomore on the roster of the King’s College (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) women’s swim team this season. Bove, listed as an Athletic Training major placed 10th in the 100 breaststroke at the Diamond City Invitational in November of 2018. King’s placed second in the team scoring at the Diamond City Invitational.

Chris Soutter (High Point High School) is a senior on the roster of the King’s College men’s swim program this season. Soutter, listed as a Computer Information Systems major won the 1,650 freestyle event at the Diamond City Invitational.
