About 100 people came to an event sponsored by Safe and Sound Animal Rescue on Sunday, June 8, at the Sussex Elks Lodge No. 2288.

Safe And Sound Animal Non-Profit Rescue was established last November by Karyn Pirl of Wantage. Around 10 bands volunteered to play at the event to raise money for the rescue organization; the entertainment was organized by Karyn's daughter Ashley Adam, 20 of Wantage.

Goofy is a deaf pit bull, so he hung out the whole time.

New Yorker Jim Brady skydived into the event. Around 100 people came out to support the rescue's cause.

According to Adam, volunteer bands will play every Friday at the Elks Lodge to help raise money for the organization.
