'Metamorphosis' exhibit in need of artists

| 21 Mar 2014 | 12:21

The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council presents a call to artists for the upcoming exhibit “Metamorphosis."

Artists may enter works of art related to this theme in any medium if they are members. Non-members who become members before the show can also enter their art.

The metamorphosis of a living creature, a butterfly, takes the idea of change and ups the ante, as in caterpillar to butterfly, an alteration to a startling degree. Might artwork show real, imagined, living or inert metamorphosis? How might artists convey a complete reworking to an unexpected end stage?

The Exhibit will run from April 5 to 23. Opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. Artists may drop off their work at the Council’s office on Sunday March 30, 12 to 3 p.m. and Tuesday, April 1, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The SCAHC gallery/office is located at 133 Spring Street, Newton, N.J., 937-383-0027.

Prospectus and member enrollment can be found at the SCAHC website at www.scahc.org/events, or at the council’s office.
