Newton — A photo contest to capture Sussex County for the covers of CenturyLink's county and Sparta telephone books delivered prizes to five winners Tuesday night.

First place went to Kathy Brennan Hughes of Hampton. Her photo will be on the CenturyLink county phone book and she won a $200 cash prize. Second place went to Daniel Baumgartner of Sparta, whose work will go on the cover of the Sparta CenturyLink phone book. He received a cash prize of $100.

Four honorable mentions went to photographers Paul Michael Kane of Ogdensburg, Craig Haveman of Fredon, Daniel Baumgartner of Sparta and Elizabeth Albert Wallace of Fredon.

The competition was organized by Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council, under the director Mary Jo Mathial from Byram.
